COURSE PROGRAMME

ONSITE Roman Blind Course

Through discussion, demonstration and making of a sample, this course provides students with the skills to make a professional Roman blind with confidence. The course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those wishing to enhance their current skills – no hand sewing or sewing machine experience is required.

• Make an operational interlined Roman blind with no visible stitching fitted to supplied chain mechanism, compliant with blind regulations.

• Learn how to assess and measure various window shapes including bay windows.

• Fabric estimation and accurate calculations for rod pocket spacing for standard fold and waterfall/cascade folds.

• Learn about making blinds with interlining, black-out lining, trimming detail and integrated side returns.

• How to fit hardware & dress in a Roman blind. Motorised system demonstration. 

We run an ‘Advanced Roman Blind Course’ 1.5 days course which naturally follows from this 1 day course. Students learn further essential skills and techniques. Attending the full 2.5 days tuition provides a fully knowledgeable skill set in making professional Roman blinds.

If you have completed our ONLINE ‘Roman Blind Course’ Accredited certificate, you are welcome to attend our ONSITE 1.5 day ‘Advanced Roman Blind Course’.

Our 1 day course ‘Roman blind Course’ is the same Roman blind programme incorporated in our ‘Course ONE Professional Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings’. If you would like to attend Course ONE you only need to attend Day 1, 2, 3 & 4 to be awarded the Accredited Certificate. The fee is equivalent to 4 days tuition – £760.

The Advanced 1.5 day course is the same programme incorporated in our ‘Course TWO Professional Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings’. If you would like to attend Course TWO and have completed our courses Course ONE and 1.5 days Advanced Roman Blind Course, you only need to attend Day 1, 2, 3 & 4 (half day) to be awarded the Accredited Certificate. The fee is equivalent to 3.5 days tuition – £665.
